Phish Guitarist, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band Founders and VT Bluegrass Musicians Perform for CPI
Burlington, VT- Nitty Gritty Dirt Band members John McEuen and Jimmy Ibbotson were most pleasedby their special surprise guest at Burlington Vermont's Higher Ground club at their performance for Clear Path International. Phish guitarist/vocalist Trey Anastasio (one of America's highest grossing acts) accepted John's invitation and joined them mid-show, sitting in for a memorable night of jamming.

Digging in to mutual favorite classics from Dylan and The Band to Del McCoury music, Anastasio played acoustic guitar and even sang a Phish classic. The trio's love of music was obvious as they shared the stage for an hour. They ended the night with Will The Circle Be Unbroken, paying homage to the NGDB landmark platinum album of the same name. This climatic encore also brought
Vermont's hottest bluegrass groups back to the stage, opening acts Gopher Broke, Banjo Dan and the Midnight Plowboys, and The New Bremen Town Musicians- for a 20-minute finale that kept the audience on their feet demanding more encores.
McEuen sat in with Phish several times around the country and was greatly pleased Anastasio took time from his busy schedule to reciprocate and support the great cause of landmine removal. John and Jimmy will again hook up with their long time bandmates at the end of September to start a 22 city of the
Original Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. (info at www.johnmceuen.com)
