Let's help Cambodia recover from war
SEATTLE, WA-Last Wednesday Daravuth "Darrell" Huoth, the Cambodian American businessman from Seattle who is the Cambodian government's honorary consul to the Pacific Northwest, opened a consulate on Westlake Avenue.
It's the first diplomatic mission of its kind for the small Southeast Asian country here.
So what's the big deal? After all, one could argue, Cambodia isn't exactly high on the radar screen for Boeing, Weyerhaeuser or Microsoft. With a mere 12 million of the world's poorest people and a mostly agricultural economy, its market isn't nearly big enough to be interesting to our state's largest exporters.
