Burlington Free Press Features CPI Trip with Johnson State College
Last summer, 10 people from Johnson State College and Clear Path International, a Dorset land-mine relief agency, traveled to Vietnam for nearly a month. Their purpose was to work, to learn and to establish a future Johnson State service-learning program that would assist Clear Path in helping victims of land mines.
Preparations for the Vietnam trip began in the fall of 2003. The group attended a conference at Smith College on the problems of land mines around the world and then, this spring, took an intensive course on Vietnamese culture and history.
