Bluegrass & Folk Concert Raises $10K

BAINBRIDGE ISLAND – Bluegrass & Folk legend John McEuen did it again. This time at Grace Episcopal Church with son Nathan and sessions musician Matt Cartonis. For the third time in five years, McEuen’s virtuous musical talent and recording history packed the house on Bainbridge Island and raised thousands of dollars for humanitarian relief. Thanks to the tireless work of concert promoter and bluegrass fan Wendy Tyner, the three musicians drew a crowd of nearly 300 to Grace. They played several favorites from McEuen’s repertoire as a founding member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band

Clear Path Teams Up With Tsunami Relief Group

BAINBRIDGE ISLAND – Clear Path International has formed a partnership with the Bainbridge Island Sumatra Tsunami Relief Fund to provide aid to tsunami survivors in Indonesia and other countries that are also affected by the presence of landmines.

BISTRF was started by Peter Perry and Dea McKibben in the aftermath of the post-Christmas disaster that struck South and Southeast Asia. Perry traveled to the Indonesian island of Sumatra almost immediately to help support a team of doctors and nurses providing care for the tsunami survivors on Aceh.

Vietnamese Boy Loses Legs and Arm to War Era Bomb

HUE, VIETNAM- A bomb left over from a war that ended here 30 years ago has severely disabled a 13 year old boy. Ho Van Nghia found the munition while bringing his mother lunch in a rice field on March third of this year, reports Clear Path International.
