Dr. Tao Sheng Kwan-Gett
Burma Advisor

Dr. Tao Kwan-Gett, MD MPH is a primary care pediatrician at Virginia mason Medical Center in Seattle, Wash. He became special advisor on Burma for Clear Path International in 2001.

Dr. Kwan-Gett received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Harvard University and completed hi pediatric residency training at the University of Washington. He then did a fellowship with the University of Washington Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholarship Program and earned a Master's Degree in Public Health.

International health has been a longtime professional and personal interest of Dr. Kwan-Gett. Since 1996, Dr. Kwan-Gett and his wife, Paula Bock, a writer for the Seattle Times, have traveled annually to Dr. Cynthia Maung's refugee clinic on the Thai-Burma border to do volunteer work.

Dr. Kwan-Gett is a recipient of the Special Achievement Award from the American Academy of Pediatrics and of a Human Rights Day Award from the Seattle Chapter of the United Nations Association for his work on behalf of Burmese refugees.

He advises Clear Path International on its support for the Mae Tao Clinic and its new landmine survivor assistance program.
