In the 2020 election in Pennsylvania, one of the most serious problems election integrity faced was the uneven application of state statute and procedures in counting absentee ballots. Conservative areas followed the rules for curing defective ballots where more liberal areas let murky ballots pass. The Republican National Committee is now suing problematic Bucks Country and demanding that it adheres to transparency guidelines for ballot counting as well as the training of election officials and all counting procedures.
